Allison Dalrymple

Director

What do you do?
I have been in property recruitment for 24 years and I’m still going strong! I absolutely love my job and I am proud to be the recruitment director for Residential Sales, Lettings and Property Management. I also have the pleasure of leading a fantastic team of four amazing individuals who are not just colleagues but also friends.

About

Allison commenced her career in estate agency on the Isle of Wight before moving to London in the late 90’s, joining one of central London’s leading estate agents as a Lettings Negotiator in their Knightsbridge office. She also worked in their Mayfair office before being promoted to assist in the opening of a new office in 2000.

Allison joined Property Personnel in early 2001 where she was given the sole responsibility of their Lettings & Management division. Breaking all departmental records along the way, Allison and her team continue to take this division to new heights.

When Allison is not in the office, she loves going for a long woodland walk or run to let off some steam. She is kept company by her gorgeous Staffordshire Terrier, Tilly, who joined her family in 2020. Allison has two young boys, Harry and George, who share her love of sport and join her on bike rides and park runs at the weekend, if they are not playing football or golf that is!

Having dedicated 24 years of her working life to Property Personnel, Allison’s loyalty, along with her consistently high-performance level, was rewarded in January 2015 with a well-deserved promotion to Director level.

Q&A's

At Property Personnel we’re firm believers that the secret to our success is down to our fantastic team. Meet our director, Allison Dalrymple, who has worked with us for longer than the majority of our competitors have been in business! We sat down with Allison to ask her some questions about her role here at Property Personnel.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR CAREER WITH PROPERTY PERSONNEL!

How long have you worked at Property Personnel?

23 years.

What’s your favourite thing about your job?

Making a positive change in someone’s life by securing them a new opportunity.

How did you get into recruitment?

I was working as a Lettings Agent in London and my manager had always used Property Personnel to secure a new role. Anthony contacted her to say he was looking for a new member of staff and did she know anyone, the rest is history.

What has been one of your biggest achievements since you have been at Property Personnel?

Candidates I have placed at entry level going on to run their own businesses or progress into a senior role within a corporate company and being able to work with them as a client.

What is the biggest challenge you face at work?

People lie!

What makes a good candidate?

A candidate that wants to build a relationship with you. If a candidate is honest and transparent, you can help them find what they are looking for. As a recruiter, you have to listen to what they want and earn their trust. You can offer guidance and advice but, most of all, both parties have to keep communicating.

What makes a good client?

A happy client! Communication is key, you can’t build a relationship over email – value the service levels you are being offered.
