For years, the image of the fast-talking, wheeler-dealing estate agent has haunted the UK property industry. As much of a caricature as the untrustworthy used car salesman or banker, estate agents have long-been tarred with a less than squeaky-clean reputation.

Thankfully, modern estate agency has come a long way from this stereotype, and today’s industry professionals pride themselves on their integrity, honesty and customer focus. These are just a few of the attributes our clients look for in their new hires, and we make it our mission to help them find the best possible candidates.

Having said that, we thought it could be fun to list the qualities that make a less-than-desirable estate agent. Here’s how not to approach a career in estate agency.
